“No weeping, child. You’ll miss me and you’ll be sad for a while, but there’s no tragedy in the death of an old woman. It’s the way of things.”
~ Granny Cordeilla from Music of the Distant Stars, by Alys Clare
I came across this passage while reading on the day my grandmother died. It made me both smile and cry because it’s exactly what I needed to hear. It is so-called “coincidences” like this that convince me there is a higher power. Sometimes we need to tap into it and sometimes, as in this case, it taps into us.
This is a wonderful quote. It’s hard to say goodbye, but this makes it easier. Peace.

Svet, my mom and aunts had a similar occurrence happen. They were asking for a sign that their mom (my grandma) was back with their dad (my grandpa). Then they walked into the lobby of the assisted living place my gram lived in around 1:00 in the afternoon (they were cleaning out her studio apartment) and there was a lone man playing the polka on an accordion. My grandparents were Polish and loved to do the polka together. They feel this was their sign. 🙂

I don’t know if you follow Marie Williams, but she write about synchronicity every now and then. I’d say this is a great example. Hope you’re doing okay over there ❤

I don’t follow her, but I’ll check her out for sure. I am doing okay, thanks, Kathrin 🙂

I know exactly what you mean. Some things can’t be explained any other way than to acknowledge that there is a higher power, there to provide comfort when we need it, if only we pay attention. Take care, my friend!
